Beyond the Listing: Rolling Up My Sleeves to Secure a Win in North Saanich

I first met Al and Kathy at an open house for one of our Westshore villa developments,

and we hit it off immediately. To move forward with their dream of a low-maintenance

retirement, we needed to sell their beautiful oceanfront estate in North Saanich. While

we originally expected a quick transition, selling a multi-million dollar property often

requires a higher level of patience, persistence, and hands-on strategy than anyone

initially anticipates.

Despite the home being in fantastic, move-in-ready condition, the property sat on the

market for several months without the right offer. I began to suspect that the interior's

coastal blue palette—while beautiful—was distracting potential buyers from the home’s

true potential. I asked Al and Kathy to trust my vision and take the property off the

market for one week so I could personally oversee a strategic refresh.

During that week, we transformed the main floor with a neutral light gray tone, replaced

decorative trim with modern flat stock, and updated the door hardware to create a

cohesive, contemporary feel. To keep costs low for my clients, I stepped in to handle

much of the renovation work myself. The result was immediate: within one week of re-

listing, we secured a near-full-price offer that had eluded us for months.

It is incredibly rewarding to have clients who trust your professional instincts and allow

you to get your hands dirty to reach the finish line. I couldn't be happier to have helped

Al and Kathy transition into a maintenance-free lifestyle where they can truly focus on

their retirement.

Congratulations to two of my favorite clients on a hard-earned and well-deserved win!
